The O. Shoulder Tang, also known as the Orange-epaulette, Orangespot, Orangeband, or Orangeshoulder Surgeonfish, has an eye-catching orange stripe with a lyre-shaped tail. As a juvenile, it is mostly yellow with light blue fringing on its fins. As an adult, the front half is light gray and the back half dark gray-blue. A 180-gallon tank or larger is essential to give it plenty of space, and if housing more than one, add a juvenile to the adult. Its diet should include meaty foods and seaweed-based fare like Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad, and Ocean Nutrition, to strengthen its immune system and reduce aggression. Feed 3x/week with a veggie clip or rock-tied seaweed.
