This coral is hardy and relatively easy to care for, with the potential to rapidly reproduce and expand. It thrives in medium light levels, and if the light is intense, it’s best to place it lower in the tank. The Actinodiscus Mushroom coral prefers a moderate water flow, but some species may have different preferences. It can be somewhat aggressive and needs enough room to avoid other corals and sessile invertebrates.
The Actinodiscus Mushroom Coral obtains essential nutrients through its symbiotic relationship with zooxanthellae algae, which it hosts. It also consumes other nourishment and particles, and thrives with the addition of micro-plankton or brine shrimp fed to each individual polyp in the colony.
