The vibrant Lyretail Anthias is the life of the party in marine tanks, often bringing out shy tank-mates and contributing to a lively atmosphere. Males boast a luminous red color, while females usually display more orange tones. This species thrives in communities, but should be kept in single-species tanks of at least 125 gallons. Ensure the tank has numerous hiding spots since the Anthias will take up residence mid-level in the aquarium. This species also shows hermaphroditic behavior, with the largest female of the group transforming into a male if the dominant male passes away. They should be fed a variety of shrimp and small flakes multiple times a day, along with live food from connected refugiums to keep them at their best.
