The Maroon Clownfish stands out with its bold, red body and white forehead stripe, plus white stripes on its midsection and in front of the anal fin. Perfect for the novice or experienced aquarist, it’s a hardy, durable fish, great for reef tanks. Maroon Clownfish are very territorial and sensitive to copper levels, so keep the copper levels below their safe threshold. Breeding at home is easy; female fish are larger and two fish will stay close, laying eggs on a flat surface and defending them from other tank mates. The fry will hatch in 6-11 days, depending on the temperature, and should be fed rotifers followed by baby brine shrimp. A diet of frozen shrimp and herbivore preparations works best. Capture with care! Use a specimen container, not a net, as their spines will get tangled.
