Botryocladia, also known as Red Grape Macroalgae, is a sought-after species that is found in a bush-like shape with round stems and smaller branches. Its signature “red grapes” are abundant on its stems and branches. This macroalgae is low-maintenance and can thrive in moderate light and nutrient levels, though it appreciates additional nutrients. It attaches firmly to rocks using a strong holdfast. While it may shed its red grapes when stressed, they quickly regrow, and even the smallest stem fragment can recover and become a healthy algae.
