The elegant Copperband Butterflyfish has a slender, elongated snout that is ideally suited for searching for food in tight spaces. It boasts striking yellow-orange bands outlined in black and a false eyespot on its back dorsal fin. It is best kept alone in large reef systems or in peaceful communities, as it can become stressed when around certain fish. Take care when adding to a reef tank, as it may nibble on soft invertebrates such as anemones and feather dusters. Despite its challenging diet, the Copperband Butterflyfish plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of reef aquariums by consuming glass anemones and helping to control aiptasia.
