The Crown Squirrelfish, also known as Sargocentron diadema, is a vibrant and common species often spotted by scuba divers. Its striking red color, adorned with delicate white stripes, adds a captivating touch to any aquarium. For optimal care, a spacious 70-gallon tank with plenty of hiding spots and room to swim is recommended. These social fish thrive in groups and will happily coexist with others of their kind as long as there is ample space and hiding spaces. They have a nocturnal nature and prefer to hide during the day, but can be enticed to eat with live saltwater feeder shrimp. To maintain a healthy diet, offer a variety of foods such as live and freeze-dried shrimp, as well as chopped marine meats.
