The Half Black Angelfish is known for its striking black and pearled color combination. Its minimum tank size requirement is 70 gallons, with plenty of hiding spots. This dwarf angelfish should be kept alone in the tank and is not suitable for reef environments as it may consume soft corals and other invertebrates. Breeding this species in an aquarium is challenging, and there are no discernible differences in color between males and females. Its diet should consist of Spirulina, marine algae, mysis shrimp, and other meaty foods, and it will also graze on live rock.
