The True Percula Clownfish is typically seen in the reefs of Oceania, Indo-Pacific, and the Great Barrier Reef, often in pairs or small groups within anemones. As they age, the black sections between white stripes darken, resulting in mostly orange and white coloration.
The Ocellaris Clownfish is often mistaken for the Percula Clownfish. Distinguishing between the two can be challenging unless you have prior experience with both species. Unlike the Ocellaris, the Percula displays a vibrant orange hue while the former tends to have a more muted coloration. Additionally, the Percula Clownfish boasts a thicker black border around its white stripes. These stunning fish, with their charming personalities, are a delightful addition to any reef tank.
As a species, the True Percula Clownfish typically displays an omnivorous diet. In a controlled aquatic environment, it will readily consume a variety of meat-based and herbivorous nourishment options.
